Bormes-Les-Mimosas Hike

Submitted by carmine.nezi on

Experience the beauty of the Cote d’Azur in nature while walking along gentlly sloping trails that deliver spectacular views. Relax on the scenic drive from Saint Tropez to Bormes-les-Mimosas. This medieval village, built on the hilltop, is renowned for its blooms, especially the golden mimosas, at their most extravagant in winter, and colorful cascades of bougainvillea. Your hike begins at the Trapan Dam, where mimosa trees line the road that runs along the reservoir-lake that formed when the dam was built in 1969. Enjoy the fresh air, sunshine and glorious panoramic views of the dam and the hinterland as well as the coast, including the French presidential summer residence, the Fort of Brégançon, the bay of Hyères, offshore islands and the peninsula of Giens. On a second summit, you’ll see the vineyards of the Angueiroun estate and the two bays of Bormes village. The final stretch is on a bike path that returns you to the tour transportation. It’s then a short drive for a post-hike drink in a café set on a lovely square before the return to the yacht
