Set on a horseshoe bay, San Juan del Sur is a fun beachside party town surrounded by postcard-worthy beaches and mountains carving out an incredible coastal view. Explore the cobblestone streets lined with colorful murals and frequented by ox carts and horses and take in the traditional Nicaraguan sights, sounds and smells in the central market. Take a taxi to one of the nearby beaches like Playa Hermosa or Playa Remanso for some amazing surf, ride on horseback along the shore or take a sunset ride on a catamaran. A hike up to the Cristo de La Misericordia statue is rewarded with breathtaking views of the bay. For a more relaxed activity, yogis of all levels can take part in Zen Yoga.
