Strait of Gibraltar Dolphin Adventure

Submitted by carmine.nezi on

The Strait of Gibraltar is famous worldwide for its ever-present population of wild dolphins, as well as transient dolphins that visit the area for food and to breed. On this special excursion with a marine biologist sharing data gathered over years of observation, you will venture into the strait in search of three species that call these waters home – striped, common and bottlenose dolphins. With the Spanish coastline and the Rock of Gibraltar on one side and Moroccan shores on the other, panoramic views will conspire to distract you as you learn about the movement, endurance, feeding habits and social interactions of these intelligent marine mammals, including how they echolocate. As these waters are rich in food, you will often see mothers and calves in pods ranging from 20 to 100 dolphins.
