Costa Smeralda Flightseeing and Lunch

Submitted by carmine.nezi on

It’s a scenic drive along the coast to the helipad near Porto Cervo, on the other side of the peninsula. There you’ll meet your helicopter pilot for the half-hour flight that will showcase the spectacular scenery in and around the Costa Smeralda, from mountainous inland areas to the protected islands of the Maddalena archipelago just off the coast and the turquoise coves and the deeper blues of the Straits of Bonifacio, which separates Sardinia from Corsica. After landing, you’ll be driven to the resort of Poltu Quantu, whose name in the Sardinian dialect translates as “hidden harbor.” What began as a marina is now a holiday village of elegant mediterraean architecture. Low-profile white buildings surrounded by plants and flowers contain a hotel, residents, shops, bars, restaurants, and more, all oriented toward the natural harbor which opens out to the Maddalena islands. Your destination is Tanit, the dockside restaurant that specializes in fresh seafood and seasonal fare. Enjoy lunch accompanied by wine in its refined, yet relaxed, setting before the return drive to the yacht
