This gastronomic tour begins with a drive across the island to the inland town of Ano Mera, home to the Mykonos Vioma Organic Farm. Here the Assimomitis (CK) family cultivates grapes using centuries-old techniques and is gaining acclaim for its Paraportiano-brand wines. After visiting the vineyards, you’ll sit down to taste their wines, which are served with the quintessential meze of Mykonos -- crumbly xinotyro cheese, the creamy and spicy kopanisti cheese, and louza, a cured pork – as well as farm-fresh eggs and tomatoes, and nuts. From here the tour heads to the southwestern coast, to the quiet and family-friendly Ornos Beach. At the Apaggio restaurant, the owners welcome you to an abundant buffet of meze and light fare: cucumber-yogurt tzatziki, fish roe salad, eggplant salad, hummus, cheese pie, spinach pie, and Greek salad. Enjoy the meal with wine and ouzo while looking out over the sand, gentle waves and the fishing village. From here Mykonos Town is just few minutes drive. A guided walk down the picturesque alleys brings you to Matsouka Patisserie. The tour ends on a sweet note with a selection of traditional desserts, island specialties among them, served with a typical liqueur.
Explore Mykonos through its wine, spirits and cuisine at an organic farm, a beachside restaurant and a traditional bakery.
