From the yacht, it’s a short transfer by coach to begin this guided exploration of the port city celebrated as the “Pearl of the Adriatic.” Entering through the Pile Gate, follow your guide down the Stradun, the promenade at the heart of Dubrovnik’s pedestrian-only Old Town. As you stroll, your guide will share highlights of the city’s long history and point out noteworthy buildings and architecture. Steps from the Stradun is the Dominican Monastery, an imposing, 14th-century Gothic-Renaissance complex. Go inside to see some of the works of local and Italian artists displayed inside. A few minutes’ walk to the other side of the Stradun brings you to the Dubrovnik Cathedral, where you’ll visit the treasury. It contains religious artifacts and relics, many associated with the city’s patron saint, St. Blaise, that date to the 11th through the 18th centuries. The walking tour concludes at a wine bar located inside a historic building. The dome-shaped space resembles a cave, making a unique setting for a tasting of three Croatian wines, accompanied by local cheese and olives.
Go behind the mighty walls of this Adriatic city to explore its rich historic and cultural heritage, with a stop at a wine bar
